Hey - it's a great NTSC buffer amplifier - does what it says - but it does much more.If you ever need to fan out that digital audio signal (the RCA or fiber - in this case only the rca connector works), well guess what - it looks like a video signal enough that this device will fan out the audio to multiple displays.I'm not going to go into the electronics behind it but basically the audio signal fits inside the width of a video signal. All this device does is make 4 isolated coppies of one input signal to redistribute. Works fine for digital ac3 audio just like digital.Only problem is you need 12 volts - if you have a pc nearby you can get 12 volts to run it from the pc's power supply - for me i'm replicating my pc's digital audio out to multiple sources so it was a no brainer.neat undocumented use for a plain jane product.
I brought this product because I have two headrest monitors in my vehicle. It works as the manufactor said it would and I do see an improvement in the quality of the videos. However, it would of been a better product if it actually amplified the video signal. As the product specs indicate, it actually attenuates the signal from 2volts to 1.5volts.
not used yet but shouldn't be any problems. purchased for in home use so i purchased dc to ac converter
The PLV2 is a decent amplifier for the price. The picture was nice and clear with no signs of over powering. As another reviewer has stated it is a 12v amplifier so you will need a power adapter if you want to use it in a home.
I puchased this for my home video system. After receiving this amplifier, I found it does not come with a built-in 12v DC power supply. If you are purchasing this for home use, you will need to also purchase a power supply to convert from 110-120 AC to 12v DC. This increases the cost significantly.
